Anatomy of A USian College Liquor Run
The players:Â
The Instigator: This person is the one who comes up with the whole idea. "Hey guys, we need to go on a liquor run!" is probably their catchphrase, until said liquor run occurs. This person usually has no car and is under 21, which means they need other people to make this happen, which is why the liquor run is there in the first place.
The Babies: The Babies get super excited when they hear the call of the liquor run. The younger they are, the more excited they are. Like the Instigator and the Netwoker, they are under 21 and have no car, but gosh darnit they want booze!
The Networker: This person, like the Instigator, is under 21 and has no car. But, they have lots of friends! The Networker puts the Instigator and the Babies in contact with the Driver and Old One. Â
The Driver: As many colleges are located in what's called "college towns" transportation is necessary to get to the liquor store. This individual provides that means of transport. They need a license and a car. If you don't have a car or a license, you probably try to make a friend who does, for liquor runs and other trips. If you do have a car, you're probably fucking sick and tired of people asking you for rides and not giving you gas money. Â
The Old One: This individual is 21 years old or older. They are a key part of the process because they are necessary for all of this to happen. No 21 year old, no purchase. If you are not 21, you probably work pretty hard to make a friend/acquaintance who is. If you are 21 or older, you're probably fucking sick and tired of liquor runs/taking everyone's orders/gathering cash/ all the other logistical things the Old One has to do.
