Power is not "feeling good about yourself". Confidence can rise a woman's personal happiness, possibly betters her relationships with other people, but in no way is it a step towards gender equality for all women. The fastest way to self confidence is through money, so assuming make up for instance is "empowering" is classist. Actual power = laws and acquired rights. Power isn't an opinion, men know where it is because they have it, that's how power structures work.
Gender equality for all women isnât going to be achieved by looking to men. Period. Men know where power is because they decided power can be derived from things that men prioritize, to the purposeful exclusion of women. We donât need to be better at playing menâs games, we need to stop thinking men get to decide the rules.
