day of devotion - hilda ver.
"Close your eyes, close your eyes!" Hilda demands playfully, so of course, you follow her instructions.
For a minute, nothing happens, and then there's the cold brush of something being brought against your neck and the warmth of her fingers. She fiddles with something before pulling away, the cold of metal remaining. "You can open them now!" she giggles as she comes back in front of you.
You look down at the item - a necklace, its chain holding a heart-shaped pendant. The pendant’s a pale pink jewel and cut so it shines as you turn it in your hand, allowing it to catch the light. The colour reminds you or something specific and you look up at Hilda. Her cheeks are flushed a rosy pink that matches her hair, but the colour of her eyes… Looking back down at the pendant, you can confirm it’s the same.
Before you can even ask about it, she's already started to explain, rambling on with a small degree of nervousness. "I was going to do it myself but it was sooo much work, so I sent the design out to some professional artisans and stuff and I know that's not quite as great as me doing it myself but-"
"It's perfect," you interject and she looks slightly surprised. "I love it. I love you."
"Oh." A pause. "Oh!" Hilda smiles this time and grabs your hand. "That's perfect since I love you too! When you wear it you should think of me!"
You scoff. “I’ll think of you anyway, Hilda.”
Her smile turns into a smirk. “That’s because you loooove me, isn’t it?”
“I never said that-”
“Nu-uh, you just did! No take-backs!” To solidify her claim, she plants a solid kiss against your cheek. “Let’s do this again next year, hm?” She smiles, this time from happiness, and she looks so cute that you can’t bring yourself to refuse.
