They had been trying to watch a movie. Trying being the key word there. Jamie and Pepper both lived rather hectic lives, and they always tried to make time for each other. Even something as mundane as this, just made Rhodey happy, as long as she was with Pepper. Rhodey had only shifted into Pepper’s lap to get comfortable, stretching herself out. She hummed in content as she felt Pepper’s fingers through her hair. She closed her eyes, and she swore it was going to be just for a second, but she couldn’t help but happily doze off to sleep.

The New Avengers facility was definitely keeping Natasha and the team busy, and she barely had time to rest. She didn’t think they could afford to rest that much, though, because they needed to be as prepared as possible for the next threat. Maria had overruled her, however, and had forced them all to take a day off and recuperate, since Natasha and Steve had been driving the team hard.

That was definitely not the image he'd meant to send to Rhodes. He wasn't even certain how that one got onto his phone. And now he was going to have to deal with Jamie reminding him of that every chance she got. Unless there was a way to get her to forget she'd seen it…
