I like getting a “exotic” fruit (aka not common mainland USA chain stores) to try (if available) each year, here are some of my opinions;
Coconut; fun to break open, but isn’t as sweet as the shavings and milk sold on shelves by themselves. Kinda meh personally.
Dragonfruit; possibly one of my favorite ones so far, guava right behind it. It’s good and the excitement is for good reason imo
Guava; I can only describe its taste as those night sky candle smell but also sweet? I enjoy them lots. Don’t chew the seeds.
Star fruit; you know how old normal bubblegum tastes like? Yeah. That’s this taste.
Tamarind; it’s not bad, but just not personally my thing. Small fruits and you have to spit out the seeds.
Persimmon; hard to describe, but it’s soooo good. It’s a honey level sweetness in a fruit.
My personal goal is to try a Jackfruit (probably not gonna happen)
Any suggestions or thoughts?
I actually liked star fruit! Not enough to run out and buy them again, but I thought they were pretty good.
My recommendations would be Asian pears, sumo oranges, rambutans, Pinkglow pineapple, mamey sapote, and durian. Never tried the last two but I want to, so if you do get a hold of either one please let me know how they are.
