Recipe for Stewed Apples;
Ingredients;
Four or five medium-large cooking apples
Demerara sugar
Cinnamon
Sultanas or dried raisins
A tablespoon of water
Utensils;
A saucepan and lid
A cooker (stove)
Wooden spoon
Instructions;
Peel, core and slice your apples into sizeable chunks. Place them in the saucepan.
Add roughly half/ three-quarters of a teaspoon of cinnamon, 2 and a half tablespoons of Demerara sugar, and a handful of sultanas to your apples.
Mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
Add your tablespoon of water then place the lid on your saucepan, leaving a slight gap for the steam to escape. Turn your cooker to a low heat, and allow the apples to simmer for ten minutes before stirring. Leave for another ten minutes, stirring halfway through.
Your apples should by now have broken down to a thick jam-like texture. Take off the cooker and serve piping hot (cream or ice-cream are optional).
Enjoy!
