Red was nervous. She had a date scheduled with Ward soon and she couldnât tell why she was feeling nervous of all things. Was she infatuated? No. It couldnât be infatuation. But something was certainly different. A feeling of dread that was sitting at the back of her head had arisen shortly after sheâd gotten up for the day.Â
But why? She didnât know. What was she so afraid of. This was to be the third date between her and Ward, what was so different about this date? She did recall hearing from other couples that on the third date, the woman was typically supposed to âput out,â so maybe that was it? What was she supposed to be âputting outâ anyways? Perhaps she should ask about that before they went out for the date so sheâd know what to expect.Â
âOk, casual date night. Dinner and a movie so-â she reminded herself as she looked through her assortment of clothes with the attempt to put her nerves at ease. There was an audible chuckle as she came across one of the shirts sheâd stolen from Ward. It was black with the quote written in white of âI know Iâm not perfect, but Iâm so damn close it scares me.â âThis one.â May as well wear something a little funny to keep the mood light, right?
She put the shirt on and grabbed a belt, tying it around her waist to make it appear like makeshift dress. Leggings were worn underneath and flats were slipped on her feet. Her hair was brushed carefully to cover up her scar before a perfume of mint and lavender was applied, it was a nice fresh and floral scent. A quick look over in the mirror was done and she was satisfied, grabbing her purse before leaving her home.Â
The walk took quite some time to get there- several hours to be precise- but she didnât care; she calculated the time before she left so sheâd make it when scheduled with fifteen minutes to spare. She initially wanted to slip in through the shadows but... something told her not to.Â
Best to enjoy the walk and take a look at the scenery.Â
It has been a while since I have done so.Â
At exactly 18:45, she made it to her destination and knocked on the front door and waited patiently to be let in.Â
