Zevwarden Week - 5
Leverette gripped the bars of the cell tight, letting magic overtake the flush of embarrassment and shame to heat the metal. Let Zevran burn himself when he decided to unlock the gate - he deserved it for simply standing there, a grin on his face and laughter in his eyes. It didn't make him any less easy to look at him, not when his dark cheeks were stained with amusement and the gold flecks in his eyes melted into something soft. It did make Levy want the elf closer, so he could hear that hiss of pain when his skin seared.
"Take your time letting me out of here. There's only the whole time it takes for the guards to come back." Zevran waved his concerns off with a lazy roll of his wrist, and it made his fingers curl tighter around the metal to hide the flames that licked between them.
"They are a bit too busy being dead to remember to go on break. I wanted to have more time alone with you."
Levy leaned his forehead against the bars, lips pressing flat together, and he jerked back when it was warmer than comfortable to the touch. Pain colored his tone in shades of frustration. "This isn't the time or place for that sort of thing!"
"There is a time and place for everything," Zevran said, and suddenly he was right against the bars. The waves of heat rolling of them did nothing to deter contact, and the elf pressed himself against the gate. "The day I put the knife in your back could be today."
Levy eyed him. "That joke grew old long ago. Even Alistair isn't afraid when you threaten him anymore."
The grin was back on Zevran's face as he finally set to work on the dungeon's cell. His hands had gone red but the burns hindered none of the skill Zevran had in taking apart the lock. Slowly, but it was done with a click and a thunk as it dropped to the ground. "Love kills, too, amor."
Leverette hummed his through about that. He stretched his arms up, cracking a wrist, before looping them over the elf's shoulders. He pulled him close and placed a kiss on his head. "Then let it be the death of me."
