So. I haven't actively played WoW since Legion. I kind of halfheartedly played the beginning of BfA, but I couldn't tell you much about it aside from how cool Drustvar was. That doesn't mean, however, that I haven't lurked or played *some* of the game. I boosted a death knight to do warfronts to get the sandy nightsaber. I did a few things with her guild, and I've hopped on every so often to do some RP things with the community. Most notably for me, recently, the Worlds Faire Carnival.
In light of the recent news, though... I wanted to express mine (and my husbands) thoughts. Because... Listening to the different WoW based Influencers, reading all the articles, seeing all the tweets and the discord notifications and all this heartache for a game that we have grown with, and for many has been a solid grounding point in our lives... There's a lot going on.
I'm not here to say you should stop playing, or to ask why aren't you still playing. I'm here to say what my husband pointed out earlier this evening, and what I whole heatedly agree with...
If you really want to hurt the business side of things for Activision-Blizzard?
Stop buying all the extras.
Pay for your sub if you want to keep playing. But dont buy the boosts, the race changes, the cosmetic items, the tokens, the mounts...
Don't buy the loot boxes or the card packs or the skins.
Heck, don't do a full 6mo sub. Do your one month sub... Then immediately cancel it. You'll still have that game time, but it'll screw with the algorithm.

When they aren't getting the revenue from these extra things, it'll send more of a message. It's still a hard decision to choose to stay, or not to stay. I struggle with going back to play every month. If you don't want to go... You don't have to.
To be quite frank, Taliesin put it rather well. In the end? Its our game. Not theirs. But we don't have to keep it, if we don't want to.
I'll link the video he shared his thoughts about this issue here, because it had a whole lot of good points and heaetfeltness to it. And I found that he gave a good Dad perspective of it in my eyes.
