This was where we ended. A glance conveyed ten thousand years worth of thoughts. After that glance, I would leave this world. The most complete ending that has no end…

In the original script, when the avalanche came, Scorpion came and tried to save me, but was buried instantly. 

My plan was to use a meaningful glance and use my final breath to tell him to flee, tell him to leave me. But because cuts had to be made, or because there wasn’t enough time to flesh everything out, you’re presented with what you see today. 

Nonetheless, as actors, we make our characters as well-rounded as possible. It isn’t for us to decide what’s in the final cut.
