The Paint Mines Interpretive Park in Colorado turned out to be a really interesting adventure. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, as it must have felt during the pioneering days, except for the giant wind turbines. So the Paint Mines were once a great resource for clay and brick, and as you walk amongst them, you can feel the soft and sandy surface beneath your feet. The intense winds have carved out all sorts of unusual shapes in the earth that was once mined, revealing layers of color and forming the mines into what now looks like an alien landscape.
