O: We should try to make this at home.

W: *mouth full* I’d rather leave it to the pros. *Obie laughs* There are a few paintings that caught my eye, that I’d like you to look at before we go.

O: Sure. There’s also a pair of chairs I think you’d like.

W: By the basket stall?

O: Yeah. You saw them?

W: Just in passing. But I’d love to take a look.

O: Maybe we should start a travel collection like the Kunals.  

W: Let’s!

*Walker yawns deeply*

Obie: You sure you don’t want me to carry you? Pretty sure it’s part of my husbandly duties.

Walker: *giggles* Not on your life!

Obie: Well, you’re lucky. Just a few more feet; then you can sleep ‘til your heart’s content.

Walker: *eyebrows raised* You were planning to sleep tonight?

Obie: Oh? Say less!

Walker: *squeals with laughter* Put me down! I was kidding! I was kidding!

Obie: *chuckles* You definitely know me better than that, Mrs. Tremblay!

Two (Separate) Showers Later

Walker: Set the alarm for 8:30! We need to be downstairs by 10.

Obie: *yawning* Already done. Tell me again, why did we plan a brunch? *gasps* Woooock me…

Walker: *giggles* Oh, I intend to.

Obie: And here, I thought you were tired.

Walker: I am. But not too tired for this. Never too tired for this, sweet husband.

Obie: *moans softly* That’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever heard you say…

Though we were both exhausted, not making love to my brand new, gorgeous husband on our wedding night was unfathomable.

It was the perfect ending to an exquisite day… I still have no words for how I felt lying in Obie’s arms as his wife... I don’t believe a word exists for that level of joy.

O: It’s official… Dambele is now my happy place.

W: *chortles* Not Sulani?

O: Sulani’s a close second, but Dembele hits differently.

W: Interesting…

O: I said what I said! *both laugh*

W: No argument here. Aww… Look at that cutie over there.

O: He is cute. Of course, ours will be so much cuter!

W: No doubt!

Walker: This is quite the spread!

Obie: *chuckles* We are sooo putting on weight this trip.

Walker: *grinning* Oh, I have no doubt. We’re happily married now; we can let ourselves go! *wink*

Obie: *both laugh* That’s my girl! We will eat all the things!

Walker: *still laughing* All the things!

Obie: So, you think we’re up for an excursion today or should we just stay in bed for the next few hours? *raising eyebrows*

Walker: *giggles* Ooh… That’s a tough one. On the one hand, I’m itching to see the city, on the other, I see a nice long nap in my future.

Obie: We could split the difference; nap at the beach?

Walker: Hm, I like the way you think! Buuut, there’s no hanky-panky at the beach. And let’s face it, I’m majorly in the mood for hanky-panky.

Obie: Hm, excellent point Mrs. Tremblay.

Walker: Thank you, my dear husband.

Obie: *laughs* Ok, how about we stay put for today get all our rest and, um…

Walker: Relaxation?

Obie: *suppresses a grin* Yes, relaxation. We get it all out of our system and maybe go to club tonight?

Walker: I approve.

Obie: Well then, let’s finish up here and reconvene by the pool.

We landed safely in Dambele just in time to see the sun rise…

I always heard that visiting Dambele is like returning home. Though it was too soon to tell, one thing was for sure, it was stunning…

At that time of day, the world was so peaceful. 

Obie and I couldn’t wait to explore. The excitement was palpable!

By the time we pulled up to the house, we were simultaneously exhausted and rearing to go!

Obie: Sankofa House; this is it.

Walker: Home sweet home.

Obie: *chuckles* For the next 2 weeks, sure. My lady…

Dambele Royal Palace

W: Maybe, if you put the tripod on the ground?  

O: The angle would be too weird. This one might work—

???: We can take the picture, if you’d like.

O: Uh, yeah, thanks! Are you also taking the palace tour?

???: We are. I’m Raheel and this is my bride, Iosefina!

I: *shaking head, amused* Really?

R: *fake innocence* What?

*Obie & Walker laugh*

O: Nice to meet a kindred spirit in the wild!

I: *chuckles* You too?

W: He announced our marriage to the airline ticket agent. *everyone laughs* I’m Walker and this is, Obie.

R: Honeymooners? *Walker & Obie nod* Nice!

Tour Guide: GOOD MORNING! EVERYONE HERE FOR THE 11AM GOVERNANCE TOUR PLEASE GATHER AROUND!

O: Where are you visiting from?

I: San Sequoia. Anchorpoint Wharf.

W: Oh! Neighbors! We’re in Del Sol. Mirage Park by Langerak Commons.

R: Wow! Crazy, small world!

The tour seemed to go buy in a flash. The palace was just as over-the-top as you’d imagine a palace to be. Well, the parts that were open to the public. The tour ended in the National Gallery…

R: Well, that was… something.

I: Oh, stop!

W: I enjoyed it. It would have been nice to see the residential quarters, but, I get it.

R: Same. What are you guys doing for the rest of the day?

O: We were going to have lunch and maybe check out Zanbira Market. Haven’t agreed on restaurant yet, though. You?

I: We were going to have a lunch at this cute little restaurant on the beach. It came highly recommended. You’re welcome to join us.

W: That would be lovely. Thank you.
