Hey Carolyn! I'm having trouble with an assignment for my mlis and was wondering if you had any advice. The assignment asks for us to write a 5-7 paper describing teen library use at our local library. Problem is, I live in a tiny town where the library gets maybe 50 visitors a day. How do I explain to my professor teens don't access the library here but also fulfill page requirements?
Hey, there! Is there another library in a town close by you could visit? You could talk to the librarians there about how the teens use the library. Also, don’t be shy about contacting your professor and telling them about your problem. I’m sure they’d understand. You could ask if you could compare and contrast your local library with a bigger library. If you can’t physically visit a bigger library, you could always call and see if you could speak to a librarian, explaining, of course, that you’re doing an assignment for your MLIS. Hope that helps!
