Holly looked over at him in surprise. Less about what he’d said -- though she had no idea that he felt that way -- and more that he would share something like that with her after the way she’d treated him.
Her stomach gave a sharp twist at the thought of his death, and she very quickly tried to shove that to the back of her mind. Slowly, she gave a nod of understanding and gently placed her hand between his shoulders.
“I feel that way too,” Holly admitted quietly, pausing bump her shoulder against his, “But, if you ask me, who y’ain’t so bad the way you are.”
