Vyxor-Porcelain & Pewter
Every time I think Young Latitudes has outdone themselves they go and drop another mind blowing release that leaves me completely astounded. July calls for another free two track compilation and this time it comes from LA resident Tyler Burton, who goes by the name of Vyxor. I'd be lying if I said that I haven't already listened to Porcelain & Pewter about ten times over since I downloaded it earlier today and with both songs being equally amazing, it was a hard choice deciding on exactly which one to post. The title track tells of travel & heartbreak in space and once you hear it, you may very well think that you've floated off into another atmosphere. Burton seems to channel the eccentricity of Kevin Barnes at times while also delivering incredibly smooth and upbeat vocal arrangements that amplify the staggering electronics, gleaming synths, and overall futuristic feel of "Porcelain and Pewter". It's then followed by the mesmerizing and insanely catchy track "Rich Dark Glass", a song driven by strong sci-fi vibes and R&B undertones that propels listeners further off into space before setting them back down on their feet. After hearing this release I can't help but wonder what's to come next from Young Latitudes or Vyxor but if you've yet to check out more from the label or artist then I highly suggest doing so by following the links to their individual bandcamp pages.
