“     yes. “ he was more WATCHING than listening really… with both eyes trained on his lips while he talked, and his teeth, and his tongue… it was a struggle to listen to anything over his thoughts. he was late with ‘visiting’ him this morning… now he just couldn’t stop thinking about it. how long did he brush for this time? what did he eat before leaving the house? could he still taste it? if they kissed, would K-

    well… maybe he should focus on this for now… no use dwelling on the past… “     I’m sorry, I’ve… had a lot on my mind today. I’m listening now. please, go ahead. “

//  “ Gosh... if you needed a break just say so Sensei... ’

  Min-jae put down the chalk in his hand and put his hand on his hip, not realizing the chalk dust on his fingers was smudged on his pants. It was after school hours and Min-jae had to stay back to discuss the plans for the upcoming cultural carnival festival. With their classroom on the top floor, Min-jae was risking something being one of the only two people on this floor. 

    “ Are you okay? ”

A house was supposed to be a place someone could return home to regardless of what was happening outside of it -- supposed to, anyway. It wasn’t unusual for someone to be scared to go home, but she still found it odd. She kept any opinion of it to herself, considering how weird he was acting and followed him in. The door closed behind them - a little louder than expected -  the moment she was inside.

  “    well, I’d hate to bother him while he’s enjoying time with his friends… “ not really. “    but… could you do that, please? I’d really appreciate it. It’s… very important. “

  Ishikawa smiled up at her homeroom teacher as she used her phone to speed-dial him. It was picked up almost immediately, as if Min-jae had been right next to his phone. Her expression was somewhat happy that he picked up and remained that way until after she explained the situation, to which her smile was replaced with a small frown at his reply. 

    “ Uhm... Min-jae says he a little busy helping a teacher set up for PE...? ”  Even she thought it was strange since PE classes had been halted for the cultural carnival. Perhaps it was a lower grade that needed assistance?
