Another piece that i started a long while ago and finally finished up! A vykrul hunter versus a blue dragon! Really happy with how the magic breath came out
The idea for this was rather random. We had been talking about dragon lore a lot in Discord and going dragon hunting and how cool Vykrul are etc etc.

Archaeological Report: The Vrykul
From the notes of Volindra Ochreheart:
They are the missing link between the Titans and humans. They are one of the seed races created by the Titans. Their warrior race. But they are also more then just that. The Vrykulare one of the most unique sentient races on Azeroth and until recently they were believed to be extinct.
From the records I gathered from those who survived the Chasing of Arthus to Northrend, it was noted that the Vrykul seemed to have just left their homes and lands without warning. Leaving haunted empty cities. But with the Lich King’s return to power and the War in Northrend, these seemingly half giants reappeared as if from a great slumber.
They praised the Lich King as their death god, seeing theirs had abandoned them and left them weak and ugly. These Vrykul I dubbed the Sleepers as during my digs I ran into many a slumbering one who would awaken to protect their home.
But they are not the only Sort of Vrykul . There are the Frost Vrykul of the Stormpeaks and the Kvaldir, the sea Vrykul . But More on that in a moment.
The Sleepers are the masters of the Proto-drakes. Their architecture and artifacts reflect this with these beasts being carved into just about everything. From their weapons to their clothing. They had clans named for the beasts, The Dragonflayers. They were also masters of the Worgs. Fearsome Wolf beasts that server much like those of the orc’s own worgs.
The sleepers used magic in the form of runes and water based magic. The Runic magic they use is not even understood very well by even the best mages I could contact. But culturally they were warriors. Men and woman alike.
In Contrast to the Sleepers who jumped to the service of the Lich King, The Frost Vrykul of the Stormpeaks. Blue as the cold ice of their lands they stand not much different beyond the skin tone and the touch of rime from their sleeper brothers.
They are masters of the beasts of their domain, from bear to worm. They are master hunters. Interestingly enough the main clans that I found living there were clans of women who would select mates they deemed worthy in combat and take them home.
They believe that their gods did not abandon them as for the longest time, Thorim one of the Titan’s Guardian constructs, Watched over them and took on the form of one a Frost Vrykul . Currently wage a war against the Sons of Hodir, Frost Giants and servants to one of the other Guardian constructs by that name. This war as I found out was for the Honor their greatest Warrior, Sif , who had become the wife of Thorim.
While the Frost Vrykul are Warriors of honor and the Sleepers are Servants to the gods. The Kvaldir are the vicious raiders of the sea. Where ever they go a mist seems to follow them. Their skin is a sickly green and sea plants grow upon them. They raid the shores of Northrend, attacking all in their way. Mostly this is the Tuskarr.
I for the life of me cannot figure out if they are real or just constructs of a sort. This is due to the fact, when slain on dry land they explode into a gush of water and the sea plants that stuck to them. Yet in water they stay intact. But from artifacts and the few writings I have found they worship something from the darkest parts of the ocean. Which has me thinking of Neptulon.
Yet they are masters of the sea and likely the remains of the Titan’s forces that secured the seas. The mist that travels with them makes them dangerous beyond their ruthless attacks as it hides them utterly.
Now there are some undead versions of Vrykul but they have no real clear artifacts and writings I could find. Those would be better left for discussion topics during a lecture.
