Ok so I'm aiming for 70k this month, which would be a personal best - I'm hitting my targets thus far!
I'm aiming to finish of two old drafts, one of which I introduced on my old blog, the other I have never really officially spoken about. Both of them are partway there and I'm aiming to get them both to 50k and finished by the end of the month!
Project number 1 is called The Paper Round The Worlds. It's an episodic story about a girl called Jennifer Angelica Mary Kate Adams, who does a paper round, which goes around some normal houses and some houses which are in fact portals to other dimensions! These dimensions include such intruiging characters as: a nonbinary Fae ruler and their boss-ass QPP who like to eat the holes from inside of polo mints and who raise a pack of talking geckos who hang out on old socks; a pack of Dinotaurs (dinosaur centaurs - human torsos and heads starting where a dinosaur neck starts) who live in a palm tree jungle and work in an art therapy group; two twins who live in each half of a dimension and are exactly the same apart from one has everything in red and the other has everything in blue, but they're determined they are completely different, and also their relationship can change how colour theory with red, blue and purple works in our world; two air spirits who are argumentative but so so in love who live in a house with lightning grass; a group of vampires who are students and need to retrieve their textbooks from the British museum; and two hellbeasts who knit with the essence of dying worlds.
Project number 2 is called Vibes and Vanity; or Space: An Operatic Romance. It's a queer retelling of Pride and Prejudice, except that George Wickham has a lot more social power than Darcy rather than the other way around. Also, it's set in Space! Featuring such fun things as: probably poly definitely queer elderly female space pirates who sail around in a space ship shaped like an actual ship and kick absolute ass ("how dare you break up the knitting circle with your boarding party!"); a lot of highly homoerotic fencing; a slow burn QPP; lots of relationship angst and lots and lots of character-driven moments; ballroom dancing in antigrav in a space station shaped and designed like an old hall/castle; and fun reference names like William Ydar, Charles Leybing George Hamwick and Elizabeth Netben who work for two political organisations called P.R.I.D.E. and P.R.E.J.U.D.I.C.E.
