Unfinished Project #2: Pin Banner
A couple weeks back, I listed all the unfinished projects that I wanted to complete. One of them was the pin banner. It was a simple two hour project or so I thought.
After borrowing my mom’s sewing machine, I started attempting to learn how to make bobbins.Â
Following the instructions and YouTube videos online. I made a bobbin. It was meh, but it worked.Â
I did some test runs. I am not sure what I set the sewing machine at, but I know for sure now that I set something wrong. This led to several hours of sitting at the machine running then untangling the thread.Â
Hours later, the projected started running smoothly.Â
The first banner came out poopie with crooked threads. The second one came out better.Â
I also had company through my frustration. I don’t think he was in the best spot for me though.Â
After sewing the banner, I used some hemps to make a hanger from one end of the stick to the other end. I wrapped the hemp several time around and use a needle to make knot through all the loops together.Â
And now it’s done and ready to be hung!
I have a lot of pins that I collected over the year through PAX, Fanime, Anime Expo and just shopping online.Â
It looks messy, but I think it’ll eventually fill up nicely as I get more pins. Haha.
