A long while back, I saw this post of a headcanon about Jeanette basing her look off Britney Spears from her "...Baby One More Time" video.
I fell in love with this headcanon because I could easily imagine Jeanette pinning the look to the pinterest board in her mind, so to speak, when she watched the music video for the first time.
And you know what's more? In 2022, Britney Spears did a throwback post on her Instagram showing off a new version of her iconic outfit, which looked even more Jeanette-ified now💘 So I also like to imagine Jeanette fangirling at this post as a veteran soldier of the Britney Army.
Recently, I noticed a similar correlation between Therese and Stacy Keibler's "Miss Hancock or Handcock for the especially depraved" persona. This gimmick was debuted in 1999?-2000 on WCW, for context. However, this isn't about any kind of Therese headcanon. I do not think Therese would watch pro-wrestling, or any sport for that matter, let alone draw inspiration from anything but herself. She's far too proud for that. This is more about Troika; were they inspired by this gimmick? It's hard to tell. I mean, it's generic enough for it to be a coincidence--the blonde bombshell business woman and all that--but I also wonder if the time frames align with when they may have started development on Bloodlines? I'm leaning more towards it being a coincidence, but the resemblance is uncanny. I'm mildly surprised more people haven't noticed this, but then again, I don't think a whole lot of people remember or even know Stacy Keibler for this gimmick in the first place, so maybe it's not surprising at all.

*Some spoilers ahead in the Tremere Chantry/haven and Skyeline Apartments entries*
Sometimes I break into a giggle fit thinking about the unintentional humor in VTM:B. Specifically, right now I'm referring to the havens:
So, first, we have Trip's Pawnshop Lodgings.
Makes sense. I mean, you've just been embraced, it's the very beginning of everything, and you've got nowhere to go, so you've just gotta make do with it for now. Obviously, the place wasn't made with vampires in mind, so it makes sense that it has windows and stuff. All of this is fair.
For the next two, we'll be taking a bit of a detour, starting with the Tremere chantry.
Chantries, buildings made from magic for magic users. They hold many purposes—a home, a base, a stronghold, and an archive. Of all of them, the term "haven" is probably most suitable to the Chantry and what it means to its inhabitants. So, if the Tremere Chantry was made by Tremere with Tremere in mind...why does it have windows???? Especially in the fledgling's bedroom???? When I was first granted access to the chantry, I instantly fell in love with it—ESPECIALLY as a Tremere. Everything I need, specifically tailored to me as a vampire and a blood sorcerer. Ahhh, but the windows gave me pause. Every time I was prancing about the bedroom admiring everything, I'd stop to try to figure out the windows. I don't think it's senseless though. If it's a tremere chantry, there's intelligent reason behind everything (plus this is my headcanon):
I believe the curtains to be thick, extra strength, maybe even magic infused, blackout curtains
Maybe behind the curtains, a blood sigil can be found on the window pane—a sigil meant to protect Tremere from the sunlight that may pour in as they sleep
Either way, the reason the windows are there in the first place is absolutely intentional. The Tremere must always be watching and aware of their surroundings. Think of the blood hunt issued on the fledgling near the finale of the game, I believe Strauss would have been peering through these very windows as he watched the fledgling fight through the streets
In the end, though they did confuse me given the purpose of the haven, it's the clan it belongs to that gives it a pass. Surely, there's a reason that's not meant to be understood.
Next on this detour and third on this list, the Nosferatu haven.
What is there to say? This makes the most sense for the clan and probably some kindred in general. Looks cozy. No complaints or anything to note here besides maybe the smell.
Fourth and lastly, the star of this list, yes, it is the Skyline Apartments.
What even is this place? Mirroring the chantry, we have a building built for humans by humans...WITH NO WINDOWS??? What if there's a fire? What if there's some sort of disaster that puts the elevator out of commission and concaves the ceiling outside of the room so you can't escape? How will firefighters rescue you from the window with their lift-thingys if there is none?! What if the person who lives there smokes? Those puffs have nowhere to go. What if there's a flood?? I tried to reason this one away like I did with the Tremere chantry: "It's LaCroix who moves you in there, so maybe he pulled a few strings or knows another kindred that works there to make some kind of adjustments for the fledgling."
First, those are some major adjustments for one fledgling and let's be real here, they're far from being anything close to LaCroix's darling. It's not likely.
Second, absolutely not! We're made to traverse EVERY room during quite a few quests, but especially in "Carnival of Death". EVERY ROOM is like that!
"Well, I guess it's only good for the vampires then! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" No, it's really not, because if a fire breaks out, you're screwed, and there's no window to epically leap out of like when Grout's mansion went up in flames, so...!!!
And then there's the aquarium on the wall. @thegreenwallrabbit-blog did a better analysis of this than I could with all the numbers to back it up, so I'll just point you in that direction. I'll just add onto that and say: all the fish in that tank better be for show (like some sort of screensaver, graphics thing), otherwise it's gonna be really messed up when all those poor fish die in there and the water inevitably taints because THERE'S NO WAY TO FEED THEM OR CLEAN IT.
Honestly, I just don't know what to think of this haven. No windows and this questionable behemoth of a fish tank hanging on the wall. Someone make it make sense. Please.
