My vintage story mod pack
My magnum opus, it has everything commented on and sectioned along with a section for mods I’m not using and a paired down section for lower end computers
Game changes, high impact: these mods change or add a major aspect of the game.
A culinary artillery: 10/10 needed for every play through! I love love love this mod and expanded foods! I’m currently using a knockoff patch for the latest version of the game and am eagerly awaiting the official update.
Betterruins: essential for all my playthroughs! Gorgeous, amazing work! No notes 10/10.
Cats: I love this mod but because I love this mod I can acknowledge that it needs work, the models for the cats are a lil janky and the handbook needs to be redone, Apparently your supposed to be able to pet cats and have them teleport behind you but I cant figure out how. Also the pathing isn’t all that great :(. But other than that I love the mod!
Chiseltools: another 10/10 necessity mod! The pantograph is a necessity for any chiseled build.
Dressmakers: lets you craft all of the vanilla clothing!
Expanded foods: 10/10 my beloved, expands on cooking exponentially without adding any new crops, makes food preservation and the cooking system so much fun!
Equus: wild horses: fun horses with a whole breeding system!
Foodshelves: another mod that is 10/10 nearly a necessity alongside expanded foods, even without expanded foods it makes food preservation so much more viable.
From golden combs: 10/10 mod makes beekeeping not only more fun but more realistic too! Also the new glazed bee and honey ceramics are to die for!
Medieval expansion: the drawbridges gates and port celluses are all so beautiful, the water wheels are super useful and the cows are just a nice touch
Primitive survival: this is another 10/10 mod I use the irrigation system In every farm I make
Purposefulstorage: 10/10 so useful for both storage and making a beautiful home!
Salt and sands: gives more life to the water and lets you farm shells, very useful especially in the early game. My only complaint is that the pearls need to be made either less common or have more uses
Slowtox: gives a real reason to brew alcohol! Also the way you have to manually figure out your alcohol tolerance for each drink is fun!
Smithingplus: i use this mix ALL the time it makes sense and it means I have to mine a lot less which is always a win for me
Soap and lye: bloom and lather: so cute! This mod is a cottage core dream mod absolutely adorable
Stone quarry: sooo useful, it also just fits the aesthetic of the game
Substrate: lets you grow mushrooms! This mod is essential if you want to use the alchemy mod!
Tailors delight: expands on the tailor class and clothes making of the game pairs with both wool & more and dressmakers
The critters pack: the mod I would recommend second! Super cute and makes the world feel more alive!
Useful traders: this mod not only updates the trading system but it also lets you make your own trading posts! Super useful
Wolf taming: puppies! This mod is made by the same author as cats so it has a lot of the same issues
Wool & more: this one is a take it or leave it mod, it’s also more of a late game mod. The mod has also gotten better over the last few updates
Game changes, low impact: these mods only do one or two small things but that doesn't mean they're not important!
Animal cages: much easier then animal traps. It’s so useful! Having a little trouble with the most recent version though :/
Carry on: use this every day in my game, also it just makes sense
Chicken feed: use it all the time for my chickens
Domestic animal trader: SO useful cute little house too! Technically useful trades comes with a rancher but the prices at which he sells the animals at is really unreasonable so I just use the domestic animal trader instead
Eternal seraphim backpacks: haven’t used yet late game stuff but I’m looking forward to it
Grapes and wine: cute little mod! I love the unique shape of the bushes!
Pig feed: useful for all your pork farming needs!
Pottery wheel: 10/10 this simple mod allows for faster pottery creation without feeling like you're cheating. The pottery wheel is locked behind tool progression enough that pottery creation is still a part of the early game but preventing the player from having to spend two hours sculpting in their steel armor every time they want another set of jugs. Also mod compatible so you can make modded clay crafts on it too!
Shelf obsessed: let’s you put basically anything on a shelf FANTASTIC mod compatibility.
Trader camps: more realistic makes the world feel less lonely also useful
Weed gardens: realism in my mod pack? It’s more likely then you think! Also it’s super useful!
Tweaks: the mods don’t add any blocks but alter some mechanics of the game.
Auto map marker: 10/10 I use this mod nearly every day in game can make the map a little cluttered but it’s also adjustable
Bedspawn: I live FAR from spawn, This mod just makes things easier. Its not lore accurate but useful enough to ignore that
Better firepit: just makes sense! Also saves fule
Buzzwords: helps find those Damn bees! I use it in the start of a world then turn it off once I’ve found my bee hive. There Damn near unfindable without this mod. The cursed things sometimes spawn IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THE LEAVES!
Chunk stability override: lets you alter a chunk's temporal stability so you can build wherever you want!
Craftable high fertility soil: useful while not feeling cheaty!
Elk jaunt integration: new elk riding system
Extra info: so useful! This mod just Makes things easier!
Flee exhaustion: this mod just makes sense, alongside making hunting easier
Gimme one seed plz: makes cutting trees easier and more sustainable. At LEAST one seed has to be in that canopy right???
Glass sleek doors: fixed a small thing that bothered me. Adds glass to sleek doors so that the room is sealed when their closed
Hud clock: very useful! Allows me to quickly know what I need to know without having to open any interfaces, there are multiple different mods that do this I just like this one
Jazzberry’s cool cooking tweaks: helps integrate some of my mods!
Mineralinguistics: makes mining easier! Yha the real mineral names are cool but I don’t want to be opening my handbook every time i find something to make sure I got the right stuff!
No ocean translocators: makes more sense
Pet backpack: makes pets easier to move
Shelf obsessed: VERY useful probably over kill with my other shelf mods but I like it! VERY good mod integration
Vintagetweaks: a lot of small useful tweaks
Weather the storm: nice but also I’m a wuss
world generation: these mods are what makes my world generate smoothly and beautifully! No more random one block pits or ugly impassable forests!
Better forests: 100/10 if I could only recommend one mod this would be it. Makes the game SO much better Both in traversability and aesthetic.
Conquest land form overall: 10/10 this is the best land generation mod yet, smooth enough to make the game better but not so uniform as to make it boring
More blue clay: just what it says!
Rivergen: 10/10 highly recommend I do wish rivers were more common/longer but I think I just need to play with the world gen settings more I recommend this over rivers because the running water of the rivers mod can get kinda buggy
WILDGRASS: TEST THIS OUT ON A THROW AWAY WORLD FIRST (this makes a permanent change to your world and if you delete it after it just leaves white blocks as far as you can see. It’s pretty and gives more grass sometimes but it is a COMMITMENT)
Cosmetics: these are the vanity mods that just make my game look sound and feel better
Farseer: 10/10 very nice makes the world feel so much more realistic without the sudden abrupt cut offs in my sight line
Juicy ores: helps spot ores when their 3d also just feels more realistic
Pink currant flowers: cute little tweak that also glows tell apart ripe white currants
Plumpkins: just a nice aesthetic tweak conflicts slightly with food shelves but that doesn't really bother me
Salty & proto’s temporal symphony: 10/10 this mod is AMAZING and makes the game so much more immersive. You will never miss another temporal storm incoming message again
Something in the water: just a little mod to make my oceans not quite as dead
Vanity: I like to be able to see my fun clothes but def not necessary on single player
Cosmetic items: these mods don’t add any game changing items but they sure do look cute!
Charlotte’s clothes: adds a small set of some cute and slightly more feminine clothes to the game of which there is a major lack.
Custom flowerpots: a cute little mod that adds more flowerpots and a use for old baskets and jars! All of my roofs right now are sod roofs with flowers frowning on them
Kevinsfurniture: this mod is worth getting for the useful windows alone! Being able to open and close your windows makes your builds feel so much more lived in! Along with leaving a quick escape route in an emergency ;). The cabinets are also another amazing addition. I do wish we could have some corner cabinets or a sink but they're still super cute and super useful! Word of warning though the stove is more trouble then it’s worth :|
Scarecrow: cute with a little usefulness!
Regalia: adds dresses and suits to the game!
Tankards goblets and more: I almost put this up in the low impact game changes section, works very well with the slow tox mod
Fantasy mods: these mods add a little magic into vintage story! Totally not necessary but fun nonetheless!
Alchemy: lets you make potions! has a decent progression and compatibility with soap and lye: bloom and lather
Alchemy trader: havent spotted one yet but I’m sure their SOMEWHERE
Draconis: I haven’t found a dragon yet, BUT I WILL HAVE MY MOUNT. Yeah I recommend upping the spawn rates
Elk variants: technically a cosmetic mod but it just FEELS like a fantasy mod
Fantasy creatures: makes the world feel truly fantastical! Orcs are one of the major pillars of my economic plan xp
KRPG Enchantment: lets you enchant your weapons! Somewhat buggy at the time of this list in that the enchantments and sometimes the weapons themselves don’t always work but it’s a fun mod!
KRPG wands: an add on to KRPG Enchantments that lets you use a magic wand!
Monoceros: ancient unicorns: another mount mod but I couldn’t NOT add it, by the same author as equus so their cross compatible.
Ruststones: a newer mod that adds a teleportation system to the game that is accessible but not broken with a fantasy sci-fi flare!
Bastion of civilization (not tested)
Spawn giant water lilies (not tested)
Hanging oil lamps (dont really use)
Breedable fish: waiting till it’s in a stable form
Buzzy bees: not compatible with golden combs :(
Flowercrowns for elk: will see when I get elks
Meteoric expansion: not up to date at the time of this list
Feverstone wilds: comeback… I miss u :,(
Better traders: not bad but I like trader camps better
Biomes: made for games that have more high impact animal/plant mods then I do
Knapster: this felt too much like I was cheating and took away some of the feeling of effort = reward of the early game, it’s a wonderful accessibility aid but if you don’t need it to play I would recommend mods like pottery wheel instead.
Terra pretty; too samie for too long it felt like their was no variation I could travel for hundreds of blocks and still be in a plains biome
Vs tower village: not safe mobs spawn
Vs village: I think I’m going to wait till this a little further along in development before I add it, it also takes away a whole portion of the early game if you find a village
More animals: only spawns birds whose models don’t really match the game aesthetic. Also their too common they spawn EVERYWHERE
Path: the titular paths were too quick to wear down and I just don't vibe the look of them
The art of growing: made for the ocd masochistic autistic. which I am but not to that degree, everything was even more of a process then the game already makes it
Farm crops: not being unkept :(
Paired down list for lower end computers:
