      “I’M HERE TO HELP, YOU KNOW.” Naruto blurted as they were soaring through the trees during their commute to Otogakure. It’d been a few days since they make the decision to leave Konoha. Although Naruto was excited, he couldn’t tell how Sasuke felt. He just wanted to help; he wanted to be there for his friend. Years of pointless arguing had taken away their time to connect & strengthen their bond. Once Sasuke declared he was leaving, Naruto couldn’t bear the thought of being separated again. A lot of bickering took place before Naruto managed to convince Sasuke to come 

      Kakashi-sensei permitted his request to leave under the condition that he’d continue his studies and return to take the Jounin exam when the time came. Naruto agreed. Virtually all his time was spent commuting, studying, and occasionally talking to Sasuke. But he was beginning to feel devalued. Maybe I should’ve just stayed in Konoha, and let Sasuke go on his own, he thought. “It’s not like I’m trying to piss you off. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but you’re not an easy person to PLEASE.” He huffed, irritation causing him to nearly trip and lose his balance, stopping on one of the tree branches before continuing on. Naruto had been relatively patient the past few days, but he was beginning to reach his wit’s end. It’s not like it was particularly difficult to get annoyed by Sasuke; this wasn’t all too different from how they used to act around one another. “What are we going to the Sound for anyway?” He inquired.

          the irony of it all . that it’s sasuke telling naruto not to walk away , and not the other around . how many years had he craved to hear those words . to see manifested even an inkling of reciprocation .
