I love trams and I believe they are one of the best running types of public transportation in Germany.

For starters, they are not only fast but punctual. I have never had to wait longer than one or two minutes after the usual arrival time for the tram to arrive. And they get where you wanna go pretty quickly.

They’re above ground so you can enjoy the beauties of the city while having a good idea of where you’ll get off. I have never missed my stop on the tram because it stops everywhere and the maps are very comprehensive (that isn’t to say that other modes of transportation don’t have this).

They’re cute as well, they have a charm that you just don’t get anywhere else.

On top of that you don’t even really have to pay for them (you should, I do), I have never had a ticket controller come on to any tram I’ve ever been on. You don’t have to hop barriers to avoid paying you just hop on. And they can even go underground if you want them to.

They’re the kings of the city roads with their own designated areas and don’t often have the same problems as buses do with traffic.
