I re-discovered playing pinball (of all forms) in the last couple of years. It was a godsend that Long Island was graced with two pinball arcades this decade - and then closed down within a year or two. Damn it! Now, this is what it comes down to.
Visual Pinball has gotten a lot better over the years with version 10.X (VPX). Creators take either real pinball tables from their own collections, or find flyers and re-construct them from scratch - right down to the actual parts, lights, sounds, and physics - for everyone to download and play. Some go the extra mile and make their own pinball cabinets integrated with real PC monitors to simulate playfields and backglasses. It's crazy. All I have is my HP Omen / Nvidia 4060Ti desktop and a 43" Sony 4K / 120Hz TV. That's more than enough to make it all run smoothly.
It's inevitable to find comic-book, TV, gaming, music, and movie franchises that fueled the industry. Plenty of fantasy, sci-fi, horror, casino, carnival, and sports tables to be found, too. There's overseas variations of American tables, and even rare prototypes. I still find games I never knew existed, with France (Jeutel), Italy (Zaccaria), Spain (Inder), Germany (Geiger), Australia (Hankin), and Brazil (Taito) having their own markets.
Shown here are some of my favorite card-themed tables across the board. I never seen any of these in real life. They're at least 40+-50+ yeas old and already tough to find. One look and it's an obvious choice between these, or any shiny new table from the last 15 years with all their video displays, useless toys, and hidden cameras. I'm not lying about that one!

Another great horror themed pinball table: Bram Stoker’s Dracula Based on the 1992 movie.
Finally found this VPX table after a year of scouring the interwebs. Not the most forgiving game, however...
Installed recently to my 4K Vpin setup.

Work in progress on PotP Pinball...
UPDATE: Now available for download on VPinMame Forums: https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=15169
My design for a “The Last Unicorn” Pinball table. Made this one for my daughter (who loves horses and Unicorns as many girls do) The build is a MOD of JPSalas’ “Miraculous” Pinball. Simple gameplay, but still a lot of fun.
