A matter of calling things quits, though a dangerous space to be hobbling about with one leg working fine. He didn't think he was bleeding that badly at first but when he went a few steps up the lighthouse area, he didn't hesitate to check it when he felt his toes squelch. Low and behold, as he dared look beyond a quick glance, he was bleeding rather badly. A sizable gash. It made him raise his brows really, carefully peeling at his hiking sock which was holding a lot of the blood, thus the reason he didn't feel like he was in much danger.
A lip was sucked into his teeth in thoughts of how to get back to the village town, it was a bit of a walk and now that he knew he was hurt, it hurt a lot more. Haha, it was always the way… So, as he was about to resolve in himself to tighten his bootstrap, he heard another presence with a question he couldn't help but answer with ease to not be a burden on their hike.
Gosh, to be greeted though for a man like himself, well, he couldn't deny their aid. The worry was clear and the telling's of possible infections did worry the old novelist. "Ah, that completely left my mind." An injection was possible here, not just the bleeding by the idea of having whatever it was that cut him be diseased. Ah, as he furrowed with the worrisome thought, he did his best to think back to when he felt his ankle hit the rock? Was it a rock? Oh.
"Ah, the sign post! Something was sticking out as my boot slipped on the step next to it." He snapped his fingers with the mystery, though his features did fall a bit. "It did look pretty old too, oh dear, if that was a rusty nail…" He didn't want to think of the madness that might come with it. Amputation was a thought he never believed himself to hold for himself and yet, he was nearly laughing at the idea of being given such a stump.
"Oh, the lighthouse?" He was heading up that way for the view! The bench so many spoke of being a great place to be but also to be wary of the man who lived there or something or other. Put it to his novelist heart it was just the villages attempt to make a tourist spot for the increased money and interest so he held no care to such rumours to hurt and slander. In fact, as he adjusted his stance, to put pressure on his toes much than his heel and ankle. It felt rather off since it was just drenched inside but his smile was radiant. "If you do not mind the time taken, I wouldn't wish to be in the way of your errands. If anything, just a wrap up would be fine for me to head to the town again." Claude adjusted his bag straps though, sighing out with a hum.
"Thank you, I'm Claude by the way, now do tell, how many more stairs do these old bones have to climb?" Bleeding and only slightly in discomfort, he wasn't to make it a drama. Not when the view was so close after his few hours of hiking these rocks.
Oh, the gentle smile of the keeper. @votireus
