Even in Japan I made a point to receive, fill out, and return my absentee ballot! For all you non-abroad Americans - no excuses, go vote!! Be the change you want to see (in Tennessee) ❤️
Presidential Primary Early Voting Opens
Early voting has opened for Tennessee’s Presidential Preference Primary. Whether you vote on March 1 or vote early, it’s important that everyone exercises their right to vote. The state has an obligation to make accommodations to ensure everyone is able to cast their ballot. Every effort should be made to enable and assist the people we support to take advantage of their right to vote. The Secretary of State’s office and the Disability Coalition produced this video to explain common accommodations to everyone involved in the voting process. You can find more information on Tennessee’s Presidential Preference Primary at this link.
Vote TN
The Disability Law & Advocacy Center (DLAC) will be hosting free sessions on disability voting rights over the next few months. Topics will include why we vote, how we vote, disability related barriers during the voting process, potential solutions to these barriers and step-by-step instructions on training others about voting access. Lunch and a training toolkit will be provided, but pre-registration is required. To register and for dates/locations, click here.
