My brothers and sisters, we have reached the end of a long campaign season, and now the time for choosing our next government is upon us. After 8 years of the NDC government, we are again blessed with the opportunity to take control of our destiny, and secure a better future for our children, our grandchildren and our country. We have been through a lot as a people; thanks to the incompetence of the NDC government. While we have had businesses collapse under the strain of dumsor; while we have struggled to put food on the table for our children; while we have watched mothers die during childbirth because the doctors are on strike or the lights are off; while we have seen our school feeding program reduced to rubble; while we have seen our graduate children unable to find work due to the gross mismanagement of our economy, they have spent millions to put our president Mahama's face on buses.They have turned every aspect of our government into a profit-making venture for family and friends. They have attempted to bribe pastors and even tried to bribe our Northern Regional chairman. They have been sharing cash on their campaign stops, as if our future is for sale. However, we have a chance to change all that. We are at the most important junction in Ghana's history yet. We can choose one of two roads. We already know where the one we are on leads to. It leads to more dumsor, more unemployment, more corruption scandals and more years of disappointment and national embarrassment. However, we can steer our destiny onto another road. This is the road to national development. The road to restoring Ghana's pride. The road to more jobs and the road to better management of our economy. You are the ones who will make that choice for us. When you make that choice, you choose to return Ghana to prosperity. You choose to end the culture of impunity. You choose someone who will fight for Ghana against the corrupt agents determined to steal a prosperous future away from our children.
