Heya! So I’ve been working on the beauty and the beast au behind the scenes for a bit. Some things have been edited and rearranged. I wanted to stay as true to the original idea as I can, but ideas evolve, so it’s not exactly the same as it was when I made the first post
The biggest changes involve how Voice is portrayed as an angel! He’s not necessarily fallen anymore. I felt that so many romance stories revolve around a sort of vague spark instead of addressing how love actually factors into the story. They assume that the audience already knows what love is. For this particular concept, I want to challenge the ‘stock’ idea of love, at least in a sense.
For the most part, Voice is an an invisible character with no real body so I was struggling with how to convey him visually. I just wanna note that this is a method to show a reader that he isn’t exactly corporeal, but capable of similar affection as a human.
