With leftover parts from kitbashing Vostroyan Scions and Aquilons from Solar Auxilia, I combined what was left to make some (Vostroyan) Cadian recon members. Then I decided to sculpt some fur cloaks so they looked more the part.
Don't know when I will be painting them as I need more bodies to make x5 more for the squad. Plus a Baneblade is arriving in the next few days.
Behold my hyper fixation for the next two months!

Vostroyan firstborn have been something on my to-do list basically since I started the hobby, but lack of money and lack of viable proxies limited me at the time. I do not have those limitations anymore.
I’m holding off on finishing my votann army till the codex releases and we get a bunch of cool new stuff (please GW not just one on foot character model). So for now this is what I’m doing!
Malcador is going to be my proxy rogal dorn TC if you couldn’t tell, and the infantry will be played as kriegers (I’m working on some kasrkin and cadians as well, going to paint them differently to set them apart, maybe as different imperial Russian battalions to keep on theme for vostroya)

Well it took me almost three months, but I've finally finished my squad of Valhallan Ogryns! I figured since everyone seems to be playing marines these days, I'd better have some heavy infantry of my own.
At least on paper, Ogryns seem to be a pretty solid unit. Those Ripper Guns are nothing to scoff at! I just wish they didn't take up 3(!) transport slots each. I might not be able to take the entire squad anywhere at once.
But hey, that's another huge project done! I have a couple more lined up, so we'll see if I can get around to them in good time.
I really need a better camera, but I've got what I've got.
I'm finally putting paint on these Vostroyans. They've been overdue since Cities of Death, but they'll fit in perfectly in Horus Heresy.
"But Vostroyans weren't in the Heresy!" But records were lost, and their aesthetic fits better than anyone else.
