Vorana outfit update - red sunglasses acquired!
as always, I am super predictable and made my new d&d character in a dress-up game:
I don’t have anything suitably spider-themed, but I have a veiled hat, so I’m pleased.
34, 41, 45?
34. How do they respond to condescension?
I honestly don't know if Vorana is worldly enough to recognize condescension for what it is yet. She probably just thinks people are being friendly!
41. What’s a texture/sound your character cannot stand?
I don't know that she has any she seriously can't stand, to the point that it affects how she lives. She doesn't love the screech of metal on metal, but she can handle it in battle. She doesn't love the sound of other people chewing, but she can handle it at public meals. That sort of thing.
45. What would they never forgive themselves for?
She can't bear the thought of letting her people down. I don't know how bad a thing would have to be for her to decide she'd done that, but it would take a lot. Her understanding of Lolth is as a very warm, maternal presence - fucking up badly enough for her to give up on her children would require some seriously terrible shit.
1 for Vorana and 26 for Marnie, please?
Well, let me turn that back around on you, because the level of involvement individual biological parents have in her society is sort of a big Question. Would Vorana have known/had a meaningful relationship with her father? I honestly didn't even think about this and I really should have! I know there's a lot of communal child-rearing happening, but her parents are probably still alive and well and we should probably talk about what that relationship would have looked like, because i have NO idea.
26. So, Marnie's appearance is... odd. Like, she's pretty. She's really, really pretty. At first glance, she is a very normal, conventionally attractive, blonde white lady.
But like. There's something weird about her?
I mean, she's human. She's definitely human. People looking will find very round, perfectly human ears! But there's kind of an elvish ~vibe~ to her? And she's a little unsettling in her prettiness. It's kind of like - okay, the level-1 feature for being a warlock of an archfey is "Fey Presence," which allows you to Charm or Frighten people on a mechanical level. But she's kind of always got that going on in a more subtle way - something that's both charming and frightening. She's not trying to! But there's something a little bit Uncanny Valley about her appearance, all the same.
Her clothing, at least lately, is all very practical, common adventurer's gear. She dresses almost exactly like Elisheva tbh - she looks more like a ranger than anything else.
She likes pretty clothes a lot more than Elisheva, though. She's just pragmatic about what kind of stuff is actually useful to have.
