Volleyball is the most dangerous sport ever.
âIm talking to you adults, volleyball is a dangerous sport. They fooled us with the story of the net, the absence of body contact and the fair play thing.
First of all, the tossing...in a world where the champion is the one who resolve the game all by himself, what does volleyball invent? If someone stops the ball, touching it twice in a row, the referee whistles and the opponents score a point. Itâs diabolic, the tossing as a mandatory rule, in a world that teaches to keep for themselves the personal things, dreams and aims.
Then this annoying thing that you must move in a really small place with a lot of people, the smallest place of all the team sports! 81 square meters...damn it! we try so hard to teach to our children to keep a certain distance from some dudes, to be individualists, to stay away from âdifferentâ people and than we see them cramped in few meters, where they have to move in a damned synchronized manner, respecting roles and EVEN  giving high fives continuously!
Thereâs no one who can spike if there isnât a setter, and thereâs no one who can toss if the other players donât recive the serve. An annoying reliance thatâs foundamental to make the game, and it is the antithesis of the concept of all we have teached to our son, the unwritten rule âthe ball is mine, no one can playâ.
And like the cherry on the top of the cake, we have the score, wich is reset at the end of every set. Letâs think about this thing. Youâve done well on this first set and youâve won? You have to restart on the second, with new energy, perseverance and the craving to win. What youâve done isnât enough anymore, you have to keep going. On the other side, youâve lost the first? Than thatâs the occasion to won this new set. Absolutely unacceptable for us, the adults, that we struggle all our life to build a confort zone, where we settle ourselves when weâre finally inside.
So with this damned sport, where the team is 100% more important than the single person, where your personal and egoistical dreams canât be grant through your team, where you have to keep playing with all yourself, letâs be real, itâs an evil sport!
Thousand of people can grow up with this sport, believing in the power and the beauty of a team, you donât want to take the risk right? Even because, i warn you, if you decide to carry on..youâll never come back :)â
