ART/DESIGN: Kinetic Typography Captures the Essence of Four Major Cities

Language teaching company, EF, enlisted art director Albin Holmqvist to create the type for their new promotional videos. By creating different fonts for each video (Barcelona, Paris, London and Beijing), Holmqvist has been applauded for capturing the essence of each city wonderfully.

TECH: Computer vs. Humans: Computer Wins (in Jeopardy)

After a three day competition between Jeopardy legends, Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter and newcomer, IBM's computer genius Watson, there is a new Jeopardy all-star: Watson. In a battle of machine versus man, it's been concluded that machine, indeed, trumps man. It'd be nice if we could say it was a close race- but it wasn't. Watson earned a total of $77,147; second place was Jennings who earned $24,000.  

FASHION: Moncler Grenoble Presents at NY Fashion Week with a Flash Mob

Fashion house Moncler Grenoble delighted the crowd in Grand Central Station with a flash mob-esque fashion show. Presenting in New York's Fashion Week, Moncler Grenoble took the cake with the most interesting show. 

MEME: World Confused About Arcade Fire

The Grammy's were last Sunday and while it's always neat to see the fashion and live performances, the most interesting spectacle was the one that exploded all over the internet minutes after indie band, Arcade Fire, won for Album of the Year. Immediately, Twitter and generally, the internet, was wrought with, "who is Arcade Fire?"  The confusion has sparked tumblr accounts, PSA announcements and countless other spin-offs.
