idk cuz like. When Liam announced he'd be stepping away from social media, some motherfuckers were genuinely going "Awww shucks but what does this mean for murder drones season 2" SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! You don't even have the decency to express concern for Liam himself and what pushed him to step back, you're just concerned about some stupid season THAT WON'T COME!!!

Micheal Kovach himself literally acknowledged that it was racist! I do not care that that word isn't technically the n-word but is supposedly a shortening of the word "negative." They, very knowingly, said that word in a way that sounded very similar to the actual slur. Language does not exist in a vacuum! Words can become slurs or insensitive because of your intent!! THAT'S THE DYNAMIC AND ADAPTIVE NATURE OF LANGUAGE!!!

Even if you personally think this response is fine, there are people who don't!! People are allowed to feel hurt by it, especially Black people who are the targets of these jokes! No matter how you feel about this issue, these are not baseless accusations.

As much as I love the art from the community and the discussions I've had with friends on the show, I'm really starting to wonder if this is really what should be at the forefront representing indie animation when they're ignoring the racism from their talents and the mistreatment of the staff. I could go on and on about the story, but it's really secondary to all of this.

I feel like in their attempt to "give a platform to small creators" that are struggling in the brutal animation industry, they're starting to become the same corporations that abuse their animators and staff, throw drama under the rug, and exploit their fans. I say "give a platform" in quotes bc part of me is starting to wonder if that was the vision at all, or if they saw how much money TADC was making and wanted to capitalize it.

What really sucks is that these issues get drowned under weekly drama abt the stupidest shit. All of the racism from their talents and the mistreatment of their staff get pushed back by kids having temper tantrums over ships. Did i mention the fucking racism from their talents and the mistreatment of their staff. I cannot overstate how incredibly easy it is to not use slurs and treat people like human beings holy shit.

I know a lot of people want to defend them because they're indie and need as much support as they can get, but. Look me in the eyes. If they can afford to make maid cafes for a show when it's not even halfway finished, create several expensive blindbox serieses that encourage gambling, and STILL fund four different shows (five, if you count lackadaisy)? I think they're good on money, actually.

I've been posting too positively about Glitch recently after I said I'd be critical of them, so these are most of my thoughts. I'll probably reblog this come the youtube premiere of the finale so ppl can be reminded of the racism from their talents and the mistreatment of the staff.
