Sunshine and Monsters

Alright, so, long story short I have an AU (The VogTom Chronicles, as it stands) that uses my own personal headcannon(s) as a backbone where Vognaut, Numnaut and Tommynaut are not related in a biological sense and are instead dubbed brothers-in-arms since it was something the three came up with for themselves when they were younger. They each have different families and backstories of how they come to be who they are as well.      For example, Tommynaut was born an only child with some very big boots he was greatly expected to grow into, Vognaut was born into a simple household but garnered quite a bit of attention for his natural combat skills and sense of leadership, and Numnaut was orphaned at birth and basically raised himself on the streets until he was taken into Tommynaut’s family as a foster brother, both for his skills that seemed to par Vognaut’s and because Tommynaut’s mother is a softy for the lad.      The three don’t get along at first, but the years roll by and they grow closer until present-day Tommy, Vog and Num would do their best to keep the others out of harm’s way. They all attend the Academy and, being proclaimed elites at one point, even start going on missions of a sort. During these years and after coming of age, Tommynaut realizes he was in love with Vognaut and can’t help but pine for him despite the obliviousness, the teasing and other failed romances both Vognaut and Tommynaut have separate of each other. Tommy’s feelings are a secret which he keeps very close to his heart for a collection of tangled, angsty reasons, with Numnaut being the only one secretly-er wise to them.      The tails and hair are just a personal mild redesign choice since I think they look pretty darn neat (I like thinking about how they keep it under those caps).

Now mind, I’d understand people getting upset about it if I was doing this with the intent of causing harm or if I were being kinda rude about it, or if I had no AU to describe at all and shipped them in the original context. I really hope I’m not. I understand why it would make people upset or a bit off-put, since canonically they are still related and naturally it can be hard to overlook and this is the first real time I’ve clarified the AU/context in which I ship them, but it’s not impossible and at the end of the day it’s just something I’m doing for myself and for fun. I don’t expect anybody else to care for it, and that’s fine, but still.      “If you don’t like it, you don’t have to look at it.”, as the old saying goes. If blocking isn’t your cup of tea though, then there’s always blacklisting, and I’d like to think I’ve been tagging my VogTom posts respectively.

So TL;DR, shippers gonna ship, AUs or not, and you should probably get used to seeing stuff you’re not gonna like.
