The admins are trying to do something but tumblr must be having technical issues. What I will say that you all should be getting a message from us (individually) once things are in place. 

The admins have been talking and we're going through all of your suggestions (literally paragraph by paragraph), hopefully tonight we'll be through with our  discussions and have some news for all of you soon.

I feel that I need to voice my opinion. I know I haven't really been on here much, which really isn't much help... but I really do care for this directory. It was actually the only krp directory and the first krp that I've done. I was always a western rper and krp never really piqued my interest until a friend showed me this directory. So I joined.

And I grew to love it. Because of this directory, I took a liking to krp and saw how the community was much different than what I was used to as a western rper. When I joined, I was welcomed left and right, unlike other rp groups I've joined before. It was a new and happy experience for me.

Though I was never really close to a lot of you, I had seen how everyone was happy with all the interactions they had. So I was really upset when things continued to fall out and less and less people interacted on here. I miss the movie nights, the games, the family bonding...

But talking about what happened wouldn't really help, I feel that what we need to do is sort of move on. The idea of closing this directory and making a new one with new or more admins is a good way to do just that. However, before opening, perhaps take these into consideration (though a lot of these are western rp goup views...) :

Create AUs, events, contests, or little plots to promote interaction

Set some more rules! (Don't be afraid to be strict!)

Limit how long one can go without having dash interactions. (That way instead of waiting for people to approach them, they would actually approach others & not stay on aim)

Perhaps even make it a requirement to have at least one ongoing interaction

Limit the photos (& etc) that people reblog so there's more interaction on the dash

For quick interactions, host events on a group chat on aim or chatzy

Host more movie nights, game nights, and etc!

Promote the directory with ads that run daily or a few times a week.

Have a map of the Valley (Actual photos of what the valley looks like so people get a definite view and photos of locations as well)

Have a solid plot, relationship and role descriptions

The Valley updates that Yifan did was a really good way to show what was ongoing currently, so continuing that would be great

The Valley Daily & Magazine were also good ideas, it would be fun to make someone hero a day or to create some drama by making a tabloid filled with rumors

Do something different! Like the currency that Seukhye had mentioned, a point system, add the weather of the day, the current time, traffic, news, etcetera. (There's a lot of things we can do to make this a more unique directory & a realistic one as well)

This is all I could think of at the moment, Seukhye's & Lauren's posts both had some really great ideas that we could take from too. 

Honestly, I really do love this place.

Usually, I would avoid directories, because most of them would not have anything that would pique my interest. But this one, on the other hand, really got my attention. Rarely does that happen for me, which is why I am glad to have found and become part of this place.

Upon arriving, I noticed a few things. (albeit by the time I had arrived, the directory moved to become a closed one)

There were some cliques..That, I admit, did not bother me much because you can find them in most or practically all directories.

When some members posted on the dash, whether it was only a simple "hello" or it was an open para; it seemed that they would get very few    to no replies at all.

It has come to my attention that many of you are on AIM more than you are on the dash. That, in my opinion, may be a main contributor to the dwindling of many dash's for the members.

Maybe planning some event or plots, those that will be for the directory members only. I feel like that may bring us closer together.

I've seen most members reblog ask memes and get nothing while others do. If you see that, why not go to them. It can be a good starter for some and a way to begin a conversation.

More promotion would be good for the directory. Making a few more ads, getting more affiliates. I think that could help the directory a lot.

Also, if any of you ever need help at some point, I'm here. I'd be more than happy too.

This is going to be an extremely long post, but I really hope you guys stick with me to read it to it's fullest. It's been my honest opinion since the beginning of when I got here, and I really do absolutely love this idea so please at least listen to my opinion. With that said, they are only opinions and I sincerely hope I don't offend any of you with what I have to say because even if we don't speak much, I love you all dearly as the first and only directory I have ever joined and ever plan to join.

This place had so so so much potential, and that potential, I promise you, is still around. However, I think that the valley honestly needs to both stay and go. I think one really big problem was that in such a short amount of time, everyone wanted everything to be fixed in such a rush at a very short time. The problem wasn't that everyone didn't interact. It wasn't the cliques. It was that while many people thought the directory was going rather fine and well, those with high influence in the place got nit-picky. Though it was working rather well, you guys only seemed to see what was wrong with the directory rather than what was good about it. I'm not blaming you. If I were an admin, I probably would have done the same.  I feel like we all became that parent that only looked down on their child's mistakes rather than accomplishments.

Since your attention was only placed on those certain things, I think that you all got caught up in trying to fix them without thinking about the good things that came with it. There will always be cliques. That is life. However, the point is to make those cliques /grow/. I honestly wonder why I've ever stayed because I feel extremely lonely around you guys. You're all such great friends with each other while the only one that ever interacts with me is JJ/Samuel and on rare occasions Luhan. I understand that you guys are busy so I never say anything about it, but when I wanted the directory to come back to life I was told "Why don't you be more active on the dash? I'm sure more people will talk to you if you are." So I did just that. I was sure to get on the dash daily since then. I wrote several open paras, wrote more in Seukhye's journal, Added some plots. I make open threads often. I even wanted to make a valley magazine. Yet no one replied to the paras, no one showed interest in the plots, only two people even replied to a simple vote. The two paras I had going with actual valley members were dropped without my knowledge. I was really disappointed by those things so I turned to others. I receive more attention from those outside of the directory rather than those in it.

The last thing I want is to give you guys a sob story about this, but this is all honesty what has happened. There is also a lack of ads now. Rarely do I see anyone making requests, and if you guys are busy PLEASE ask me to do so. I am almost always around because of my love for roleplaying and lack of social life. I don't mind sitting around making ads and such. Also, it seems I can only contact you all via aim. I personally get on dash several times a day to see if anyone has responded to paras, sent messages, and the such. I don't even feel like announcing my presence because it gets no response anyway. 

I think in all honesty, that this valley, this really dead, neglected valley needs to leave, while a new one needs to be created. I've often been told that it doesn't even feel like it's ours because originally it was Sooyoung's. Close it. Make a new directory and redirect this one to it as we've done before. However, when it's created: rename the valley, add a page of general plots that anyone--old member or new--can take up just to get started. I don't know about the connections that have been made. I want to say to let go of them, but from personal experience last time, I understand that after all the hard work that has been made to establish the bond between muses, I won't tell you to end them because taht in itself is a difficult task. Plus, I think it would do newer members good to see what it'd be like to actually have a master that isn't relationship only. We have JJ-Lauren, Zico-Tao, Luhan-Jaewook. Put those to good use.

As we've seen before. Roleplaying isn't just about you. It's about the bond you create with others, but it's hard to get that or show others what it's like when you're no longer around. If you need help creating the new Valley, as I said before. I am /always/ around for assistance  This was a uni que idea, and I for one hate directories. Never has one appealed to me, yet this one seemed to do so. We've made it this far, and maybe it's just me, but I'm not a quitter. 

Another thing is group plots. I've spoken about this with JJ many many times, as it's something that irks us both. While one on one plots are wonderful, group plots are wonderful, and they are not difficult. Simply establish an order and reply as such. Person 1, Person 2, Person 3. Another thing, roleplaying is meant to be just like real life, yes? Things don't go as prettily in life. Meetings are ruined, reunions often end up badly. You don't go through your day with just  one person unless you are a hermit, and even then it's kind of difficult. I don't know about you all, but I am totally fine with plotting/para-ing with one person one-on-one then having a random third person interrupt. That's real life, and it makes things so much more interesting if you've never tried it before. 

If we do revive the directory, don't worry so much about cliques. If you see people left, personally go and spend time with them yourself. Don't just say hey. Look over their character; plot with them. That really helps. Another thing, don't limit characters. The limiting to only Japanese, Chinese, and Korean celebrities greatly frustrated me. Not everyone you meet in the world is Japanese, Chinese, or Korean. Even if you go to those countries personally. Limiting it to Asian characters is a push, but I sincerely think it should be open to anyone and everyone. 

I'll leave  everything else I think in list form because I'm sure you're all tired of reading paragraphs. In case we do redo the valley:

Plan games nights and movie nights. It's difficult to attend them when they're sporadic. Movie nights were a favorite of mine and now they never happen. 

Be sure to remind people that the doll doesn't always have to looks human. They can by all means be dolls that turn into creatures if the maker had wished.

This is a nice idea, I think. Once every two weeks. have a day called character development day where you pair two people up, and simply ask each other questions. I can either make a list of questions if people run out or they can make some of their own.

I spoke about this with Luhan once, but what if we change the plot up just a tad. While the dolls are made by their master, eventually once they find their master, they should have the choice of whether to become human or not. However, it's a one time chance so the choice must be thought out carefully.

For each location, we could create a chatroom where it can be real-time so that people actually can meet up and simply sit and talk or meet different people. This is where script-interactions can take place. If you guys don't know how to do this, I will do so gladly. ( can we get a movie theatre? I know exactly a great thing to use that has a movie player and chat...kinda like tiny chat but better. )

If you see lonely people or those who aren't getting enough attention, we can assign them to a member as their anon for just a short time that way they create an unbiased bond before actually meeting.

I'm still willing to do the newspaper and magazine. 

I may or may not have stolen this idea from bansin, but we can have closed events even though the directory is open.

Another thing I talked about with JJ. To make it more realistic, there needs to be a system of money. There's absolutely no way that you can just enter some place an d have a neverending source of money.  There could be a money system, and I'll go into detail about this another time if it ever actually does pass.

Sorry that we haven't been able to have the meeting that we announced a few days ago (Admin Lu Han is unavailable until later on tonight). But I'll just give you some information that Samuel, Lu Han, and I have talked about on a few occasions:

For one, we know that we love this place and the idea of it had potential. Even though we were merely members during the the first days of the Valley, we enjoyed how everyone felt like we were in a community and how large the community managed to grow in a short amount of time. 

But as things faltered after the first few weeks, it seems as though the directory has been on life support and we are constantly trying to revive it. We lost people -- great people who brought other members in, and even they ended up leaving due to their own personal reasons. There have also been some highly dedicated members here (and we honestly thank you for it), but I know that some of you are slowly losing/have lost your muse. It isn't fair to any of you to ask you to be active on here when things are dwindling like they are.

So we want your opinion. We want to hear from you and get your HONEST response on whether or not it's time to let the Valley go. It honestly hurts me to say this, especially when this is the first directory that I felt a connection to with a muse. This doesn't mean that it's the end of the directory: we aren't going to close it down for good if you feel like there could be a change any time soon. But if you know in your heart of hearts that the rp will continue to flat-line or there won't be any permanent improvements, please tell us. We would like to hear from everyone if it's possible.
