“Oh, sorry, I’d roast you, but I honestly don’t know who you are..”

Her squish was nothing more than a tight bear hug. Cheek smooshed against his frame, soft grunts sounding from her. It was only when she heard him speak did the little Russki let go of the neighboring country.

“Oh! Nyet! Nyet! I come to see few friends Mr. Russia let’s me see! And since we are so close, if I mess up English, you are few who understand me when I speak Russian!”

It was as if little sparkles and hearts fluttered around her as she spoke. Truly one who was just as lonely as her country was. Any and all interactions made them happy.

“I bring you present! I make scarf the other day of your countries flag, you take?”

Not a single soul:

“Nyet, no such services exist in homeland.”

“Sun flowers and Vodka make the world go round.”

“The crimson of your blood splattered against the ivory fluffy snow will look beautiful.”

“Nyet! Winter outside of Siberia is not bad. I prefer it! I am the okay! It is good to meet you without Russia blocking view! How is hockey going? Hopefully good, da?” Lifting her hands, the girl would play with golden strands of hair, a nervous habit of hers. She wasn’t the best at socializing but she tried her best.

“How could I say no to someone with such a cute face? Oh, and Gilbert, you are here too!” The female grinned, giving Gilbird a wink as if it was the pet who had asked her and not his owner.

Right. Right. He would be able to understand her even if she couldn’t speak at all. Truthfully she just needed to calm down. Excitement often made her forget everything but her core knowledge: Russian and basic things.

As she found herself trying to curb her excitement so that she could better communicate with her friend, the female noticed he had opened his arms and without hesitation she threw herself into his embrace.

The unlikely friends reunited once more. The Russki couldn’t be anymore elated than she already was.
