May 6, 2019—For the first time in years, VMI football wrapped up spring practice with a traditional spring game Friday in which the Keydets were split into a red and a white team.  The purpose of the game was, as head coach Scott Wachenheim explained, “to create energy, enthusiasm, and excitement, and I thought it did that.” Red won the matchup 14-0.—VMI Photo by Kelly Nye.

Sept. 29, 2018—The Keydets take on the Mercer University Bears during today’s game in Foster Stadium. After a hard-fought battle the Keydets lost to Mercer 38-48.—VMI Photos by Kelly Nye. 

Sept. 14, 2018—VMI's last drive of the first half results in a field goal, increasing the Keydets’ lead—17 to 10.  VMI moved their home opener against East Tennessee State University up a day as rain from Hurricane Florence closes in.—VMI Video by Maj. John Robertson IV. 

Sept. 14, 2018—The Keydets lost a hard-fought match 24-27 against the East Tennessee State University Buccaneers today in Foster Stadium. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the game was moved to today in anticipation of Hurricane Florence’s arrival.—VMI Photos by H. Lockwood McLaughlin.
