First week of residency is done and i get holidays off??? I work at most like 8 to 6?? Wild. The parts i like so far is it's a lot of digging into cases with people both gp vets and specialists, the case variety is bananas (great blue heron, squirrel, box turtle, in addition to the usual domestic species), everyone is insanely nice, so much time to read and learn. Less ideal: there is a component of monotony coupled with a lot of sitting inside. I am going to have get disciplined abt doing exercise on my own time (i am bad at this) and also figure out how to ergonomically sit at a microscope all day. But ithaca and the surrounding area is beautiful i love New York

okay huge job win, i caught an important disease on a smear that no one else did. granted i caught it on a more directed second look but! take a win bitch! i caught it bc i was curious and i like knowing things and i'm apparently good at seeing one particular micro organism so hooray. more data for problem solving for the primary vet, more data for disease tracking at a state level, lil bit of bragging rights for me
