Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā It had been three months since she moved to this small town, two months since she was accepted into the Schoolās cheerleading squad, and a month in a half since Justin caught her eye. She didnāt particularly want to be cheerleader, but her sister and mother talked her into it. Said it was a great way to meet new people and make new friends. So she went for it. To her surprise, even without prior experience, Valerie made it into the Varsity team. Maybe it was because she fit theĀ ālookā or maybe it was because she was a fast learn during the tryouts, but she was there, and that meant sheād be just a little closer to him each practice on the field and each football game. They only had one class together, but it was okay, she couldnāt get greedy.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā It wasnāt until the homecoming game was over that she gained up the courage to buy hot chocolate and come up to him, offering him one with a small smile.Ā āHi, um, Iām Valerie. We look at each other from time to time... youāre Justin... right?ā Her brown eyes looked down at the two hot chocolates in her hands and carefully raised one to him in offering.Ā āWould you like one?
