I was wondering is there a specific reason why Nozaki quit basketball.
No specific reason has been stated, and it's not unusual for students to change/discontinue their junior high school club activities going into high school bc they're just not that interested. However:
- he pretty much admits he doesn't even like basketball all that much, according to Ch135. And his Q&A states he only did it in junior high bc he got invited and kinda just went with the flow like that.
- he's super busy with his manga work now. Even without club activities he already has tight deadlines to meet, so he'd probably suffer a lot if he did both his manga work and basketball and would look like this all the time:
- he doesn't want to risk injuring his hands from playing basketball, as pointed out in Ch11
