None were so foolish and brazen as the tarnished; violent graceless creatures.

Yet still, runes were runes, no matter whose hands they exchanged. And with a bereft sigh, the merchant spoke.

"Is this thy maiden, tarnished,” addressing Tomura first as she perused the wares.

Tomura looks to her next, glancing from the corner of his eye as he stood with his scythe lazily in hand. Exhaling a slight scoff before she answers in his stead, voice deceptively docile, “No, but he certainly is pretty, isn't he?"

The man sneers openly at her, something she doesn’t miss despite how she’s yet to even truly acknowledge him; something the merchant doesn’t miss. Disrespect was a common tongue in the Lands Between, but even still, he clears his throat before clasping his hands behind his back. A mistake that they’re both sure to capitalize upon.

“Ahem. Is there anything that interests you then, my time is valuable, I must be moving along.”

She determines within a moment that the merchants bell bearing and the memory stone that hangs around the neck that undeservingly held his head high were worth more than what he had for purchase.

“Yes, there is something of great interest to me,” she draws her sword within a blink, fine point of the blade a hairbreadth from his sternum before pressing closer, “your life.”

“Its our off night tonight,” she giggles, holding her boyfriends face as she leans closer, “got any big plans, hermoso?”

He’s quiet for a suspended moment, crimson hues taking in all of her features. Gaze flitting from her lips back to her eyes, “what game are you trying to con me into playing this time?”

She laughs, giddily and full of mirth, bleeding into giggles before she presses her into cheek into his after a chaste kiss to the scar that decorates his lip, “Devil May Cry. I rage quit, you’re better at the combos.”

“Right,” he rolls his eyes, scoffing despite leaning into her affections, “it’s not at all about just wanting to see Dante.”

“Totally not,” at least this fictional crush has white hair, as if several of the others didn’t also.
