Let’s chat about Creative Ruts! I mean who here hasn’t been out of ideas and stared at a blank page or canvas and had zero ideas?!  Ugh Artist blocks are the worst! But after years I figured out how to get over mine.  It’s not fun but I found the best thing to do is take a break and relieve the pressure from yourself to produce. Basically art needs to come from inspiration and if you are feeling stagnant and upset about it, nothing will come out.  So relax, workout (endorphins help a lot!!) and find out what’s inside you that you want to express  I did that last year after a terribly long creative funk. I channeled what I felt was upsetting my balance and then decided to use that to springboard what I, as a person, wanted to express. Hence my solo show of love and diversity, Sky with @coreyhelfordgallery opening April7th!  I want to show how beautiful we all are no matter what shape or color we come in!!  Being an artist isn’t easy and we can be our own worst critics and self doubters, but try to remember that you have a voice and that your art is meant to be there to express it! Hope this little post helped those of you who’ve emailed me about this issue and for anyone else out there that is in a funk right now. Much love to you!
