⁣ Canon EOS 250D | 29mm | 0.4s | f/10 | ISO 100 {Photo 1}⁣ Canon EOS 250D | 24mm | 1/8s | f/10 | ISO 100 {Photo 2}⁣ Both taken on 10/08/2020.⁣ ⁣ Despite its proximity to London, the county of Hertfordshire offers a wide range of walking opportunities through pleasant countryside and attractive villages.⁣ ⁣ These two photos are of a circular walk that starts in the picturesque village of Ayot Green and continues through typical Hertfordshire countryside to reach the banks of the River Lea, with the concluding section passing through woodland.⁣ ⁣ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲:⁣ ⁣ Unfortunately there are no bus routes that pass through Ayot Green. ⁣ Canon EOS 250D | 35mm | 1/250s | f/5.6 | ISO 100⁣ Taken on 01/09/2020.⁣ ⁣ The River Bulbourne is a chalk stream that rises in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) at Cow Roast and flows through the centre of Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire.⁣ ⁣ Chalk streams are a globally rare habitat. With their clear waters and stable conditions, they are able to support many plants and animals, including rare species like the water vole. Needless to say I didn't spot any on the riverside walk, but quite a few herons were out and about.⁣ ⁣ The River Bulbourne used to support a vibrant watercress industry and remnant watercress beds still remain.
