She stops in her tracks. She’s not fluent but he’s taught her enough to get by.

her hood was up to cover her ears. ( not that it mattered -- it just made her feel safer. ) It was a room that she had not known of before , and she thought she’d explored the whole house. She was curious enough to try to figure out why this room wasn’t used. Her nose in the air , she smells something she couldn’t put her finger on , but that goes ignored when she sees a shadow move , pulling out her small weapon to defeat the lurking monster. 

She stows her book in her bag and watches as he dips a toe in the freezing water. A suppressed giggle and sliding off of the bench, she walks up to the man who is very clearly not dressed for the climate.

“No, not from just sticking a toe in the Atlantic,” she looks down at him, “but you might if you stay out here any longer dressed like this.” He’s wearing sandals on the beach, it’s a wonder he’s not sick already. She holds out her hand to him, “I’m Eliza.”

“Why not, huh?”

Calcifer rattles in the lantern Howl puts him in to carry him around. Too bad the wizard had left him here, with this rat guy. What’s so great about him anyway? He’s weird. Not like Howl is any better, but still.

“Just let me outta here. And I’ll.. I’ll uh.. Grant you a wish, or whatever.”

“Well, my friend, everyone could be considered ‘special’, couldn’t they?”

Howl glances down at Bruno, sky blue gaze gentle as he looks him over. It’s pretty clear that he finds the seer interesting, he’s even told him that to his face multiple times. Maybe it’s his attitude, or mannerisms. Maybe it’s his magic.
