📸Wanna know a HOT TIP for taking a great selfie to help with your personal brand building? 🌞Always look for the light. 🪟For example if you're taking the photo indoors, turn your body so it faces a window. That way, the natural light will touch your face. Sounds obvious right? It's amazing how many selfies I see where someone's face is not lit! Wait there's more to it! ▶️The trick is to create a SOFT light on the face for a more flattering look. Direct sunlight will often cause squinting and awkward facial expressions.☹️ 😊Soft light will reduce shadows on the face (bye bye bruised eye look) and soften wrinkle lines. To achieve soft lighting you need to experiment with DISTANCE to the light source. For instance, standing up close to an indoor window might still cause squinting or shadows whereas stepping back a metre will allow the light to diffuse and soften. Actors are used to playing the part of someone else, but often the moment they're asked to play themselves, it's a whole other story! ⚡ I know this because I have photographed hundreds of actors and dancers (it's how I started my photography career) and I used to be an actor (or at least trained too!). ⚡ I always loved the freedom that came with expressing myself on the stage, no judgement.
