funny little thing I just thought about. Thrift store au. It's like post-elimination and Evan goes back to his normal life. He takes up a job at a local thrift store that started hiring for the season. One day he's working and he notices like an influx of clothes from a specific donator and he doesn't think much of it. That is UNTIL he notices a new shopper browsing the store and slowly but surely becoming a regular and he starts to recognize that it's karmen! He can't find it in him to really talk to her at first because of many reasons. (What if she forgot about the whole VR event? What if she doesn't want to remember it anymore? What if their bond is actually not what Evan had thought it was? What if he was just overdoing it with his thoughts of longing for the girl who taught him to have faith within himself?)

He continues on with this thought pattern for days until one time he's hanging clothes on the rack. Karmen casually walks over towards his aisle and they're in the same space until they do the thing where their fingers touch as they're reaching for the same item. Evan frantically apologizes and Karmen is just like " it's fine, no worri- " and then the moment of realization happens that they recognize each other fully

dude like- I am SO distraught over the whole elimination with evan. They had so much chemistry and then bro got booted from the server just because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time dealing with the WORST possible people for that situation and I knew he at least tried his best but poor bby was shaking his boots off out of pure fear and hoping karmen would come to his side (that tugged at my heartstrings because you just KNOW that he cares, loves, and relies on her so much) and knowing that she wasn't JUST too late but she had to see him be forcefully removed is just insane to me. Like all of that build up just for him to get removed. He was also just FINALLY starting to believe in himself and building up his own strength to defend those he cares about all of that progress to just get removed. Also like, y'all made him leave his younger adoptive sister, y'all evil fr 😭

And yes, I know it also happens to Nin and his whole story with Vishia. How he left before Vishia was able to properly come together with her thoughts and actually own up to her feelings of genuine infatuation with Nin. However, she was also too late as Nin kind of set his fate in stone without even realizing it. Also, even though Nin was such a prick to a lot of people. We do get to see him mature as well throughout the chapters. From just a card stealing flirt to a guy who does care about his allies and actually gives them insight on how to better themselves. It's just too bad we don't actually get to see him actually develop his bond with Vishia like how we saw with Karmen and Evan. All we know is that she saw him once, tagged along with him, and they've been inseparable ever since. Also lumped in with the fact is the she's linked to the reason as to why he's been stealing cards in the first place. My theory is that he's actually saving for a ring. Maybe a promise ring of some sorts and since it's a high valued item, he needed to get his hands on some s-rare cards via stealing them through cheats.
