INFERNAL’S GENDER COINING WORKSHOP AND DISCUSSION POST.
Note: I'm putting this up here for discussion. If you've got input or suggestions, been information that’ll be useful to contribute about this gender I'm workshopping, it’s etymology, or why I'm even coining it in the first place, speak up in the comments or reblog. I'll warn you, this is my first time doing something to this extent, I’ve made subterms and sub genders for pre existing alignments like the Galactian system, Kenochoric and Misce —I'm not pretending to be some fancy big-shot coiner or flag designer who's got a shit ton of popularity behind me and eloquent writing skills.
I don't give a damn if this picks up steam or gets popular. That's not the point. The only reason I'm doing this is to carve out a space and give a name to a gender experience, so people like me don't have to keep feeling like they're fighting a one man fight against acts of oppression, discrimination and various forms of LGBTQIA2S+ phobia and queerphobia.
This is the symbol I made for the gender I’m coining I call Virrerro. This is my first attempt at ever making a gender symbol, I know there are so many fucking little imperfections I just have to accept because I made this entirely on my phone as I own no other device for using the internet. If anyone wants a non white outlined version let me know as I applied the outline for visibility on tumblrs dark mode interface.
Undecided on what I want the flag colors to be if I decide to make a flag at all.
Now onto more of the etymology behind the gender.
VIRRERRO
Virr ( Alternate spelling of Vir which is Latin for male ) + Aberrō ( Latin ab- “from, away from” + errō - “wander, stray” )
Virrerro is a gender identity that relates to male experiences and male alignment but distinctly exists outside binary frameworks and can be experienced as male aligned, male adjacent and male related through both a human lenses and a non human lenses devoid of the societal expectations, and conventional definitions of maleness. This gender is characterized by strong autonomy, self definition and non-conformity, rejecting both the gender binary and the masculine-feminine- dichotomy.
While Virrerro might sound similar to existing male-aligned, male-adjacent and male related genders or umbrella terms such as gendervir, it stands as a distinct concept yet could technically fall under the gendervir umbrella if one wished it to without losing its unique identity though I’d be greatly opposed to it. What sets Virrerro apart is its dual perspective of male related genders through both a human and non human lenses that is self defined and autonomous nature, with no strict gender qualities, roles, presentations, or expressions prescribed to it. This approach recognizes that no two people will experience their Virrerro gender identically.
For instance, a Virrerro individual of color will have a vastly different experience compared to a white Virrerro individual. While two or more Virrerro-identifying people may have distinct, self-defined and personalized definitions of what constitutes their Virrerro gender qualities, overlap is certainly possible. One Virrerro person might associate specific hobbies, aesthetics, or qualities with their gender that others also connect with, creating commonalities. In contrast, another Virrerro individual who is non human Virrerro might share only one or two similarities in their gender experience with fellow Virrerros.
Virrerro emphasizes self-defining what it means to be male or male-aligned without being innately masculine-aligned or binary aligned-a concept that differs from societal understanding of male the gender and male-aligned genders. It emerges from the act of taking gender concepts commonly related to male alignment or other alignments and completely removing them from binary frameworks as an act of defiance, choosing instead to redefine what experiences male-aligned genders can encompass.
Although Virrerro is detached from the binary with no explicitly defined or expected gender presentations, qualities, or orientations, this doesn't prevent Virrerro individuals from relating to preexisting alignments. One might qualify Virrerro as Preterine in nature and present in various ways, including but not limited to: Androgyny (without connotations of strictly masc and fem presentations), Gender Non-Conformity, Neutrality, Xenine, Kenoine, Outherine, Lureninity/Lutorinity, Aetherine, and so forth.

WHY VIRRERRO? THIS JUST SOUNDS LIKE ( Insert gender name or umbrella term here. )
Good question. Before I answer, I want to address a common complaint within the LIOMOGAI and Queer communities about the tendency to coin new terms genders, gender systems, qualities, or orientations that are essentially the same concept with different names. I understand the frustration of encountering nearly identical definitions multiple times in one day, each with just a different name or flag palette. I'm aware that Virerro's definition doesn't offer much to distinguish it, and I'm sure similar terms exist. I struggled to find the words that accurately described this gender experience without repeating myself or sounding like I was describing two or three pre-existing genders.
My main reason for coining Virerro can be found in several personal posts discussing my experiences with my own malehood and male-aligned gender identity here ( X, X, X ), which might provide helpful context.
Additionally, my decision to coin Virerro stems from some unfortunate interactions with the creator of the umbrella term gendervir. Not only do I believe that Virr (my alternative spelling with an extra r) should exist as a standalone gender rather than just an umbrella term, but the creator (Your-bigender-big-brother) is unfortunately pro-endogenic. They came to my blog to criticize me for defending CDD system children's anti-endo information blogs and their personal blogs, which were compiled and documented in a massive public "blocklist" by a predatory adult pro-endo and pro-radqueer (I-suggest-shutting-fuck-up). This blocklist contains over 30 usernames, almost entirely vulnerable minors, whose only offense was sharing historical information about the endogenic movement's disturbingly ableist origins that the creator refused to acknowledge.
Because of these associations of the coiner coming to bat for a predatory behaving adult and the lack of definition for Vir as a standalone male-aligned gender, I'm uncomfortable using the term gendervir when it’s coiner will not only defend predatory behaving adults at the expense of minors safety for “syscourse” reasons but also they’ve made very clear anti endos are not allowed to use any of their coined terms.
