#repost @becauseofthem We could not let this day end without remembering the two little boys, Johnny Robinson and Virgil Ware, whose lives were also cut short the same day as the four little girls- September 15, 1963. In the immediate aftermath of the 16th Street Church Bombing, 13-year-old Virgil and 16-year-old Johnny, were shot and killed. Virgil, by two white boys while on his newspaper route, and Johnny, by a white police officer, who shot him in the back after his involvment in a protest against white teens who were yelling racial slurs. In 2013, both Ware and Robinson were inducted into Birmingham's Gallery of Distinguished Citizens.
