the recoms encountering viperwolves has to be one of my favourite details
i'm like 100% sure, that quaritch saw his life flash before his eyes. also, even nicer detail - his first encounter with the pandoran wildlife as a human had been viperwolfes. and we know how it had ended. for him
which is most likely one of the reasons he's got such a hard time seeing Pandora as more than just hell. Imagine going there and on your first day one of those scary ass looking wolfes just rips your skin off your head.
anyway, just the parallel that both human and recom quaritch encountered viperwolves on their first time out in the forest. just with different outcomes
