"You pissed me off."

"If I have offended you in any way, I sincerely apologize," Elias said from where he was sprawled on the floor, but still looking in control and like an unfairly hot bastard with a bloodied cheek and a slight smirk despite his apologetic eyes.

She landed the crowbar in her hand close to his head–the one she used to struck his face inbroad daylight with no warning just moments before.

"It seems that just because I'm sweet on Shion, you might have been under the impression that I would tolerate any bullshit from just any bastard…" she stared deep enough into his eyes to notice his weird pupils "….that is DISTINCTLY not the case."

"..Yes, ma'am."

"Tsk. Tsk." Shion, the very one, now joined the scene, laying his palm over hers. "You're supposed to get along with family…and not solve your problems with violence," he said, with an obvious hint of smug irony. If you suspected he did not actually care, no one could blame you.

It was like rain was falling up. Or time moved backwards. Or Shion was the one having to talk some sense into Vio after she had an unpredictable violent outburst.

But to the savvy, even this way of bringing back her own words to bite her was something he learned from her.

"No," she turned to glare at him. "He's not you, so he better fucking act right!"

"Not me…?"

"I don't love anyone else like I love Shion! So if he fucks around enough, I'd never forgive them even if you asked me to!"

Shion glanced off just enough to see one of the people unfortunate enough to be around for the scene. "That one," he pointed. "Would you hit that one for me?"

The poor guy screeched like a deer.

"Don't just ask me to hit innocent bystanders for you!! That's not how it works! …I'm a pacifist…"

A good person. A kind person. A stuck up, moral, person, or at least "was" the first time they met.

Yet here they were. Roles reversed as if in a bad joke.

Getting mad on Shion's behalf.

Putting "Shion Genkai" above all that. Breaking every single other principle they otherwise still upheld.

As if going mad.

His grip shifted, grabbing her wrist and dragging her off. But only just enough to be out of sight.

"Shion?"

"You asked me not to do this in front of others, right?"

Lips touched hers.

Soft. An achingly soft kiss. So different from all the violence and forcefulness associated with the man.

Her chest felt heavy with the responsability and pride that she had taught him how to do that, no one else.

"Shion…" she pleaded from misty eyes.
